ISLAMABAD: Ater a four-day thrilling competition, Zafar Iqbal won the men’s singles title of the 6th Islamabad Tenpin Bowling Championship that concluded at Mega Zone Bowling Club F-9 Fatimma Jinnah Park here on Sunday. Senator Farah Aaqil Shah was the cheief guest at the prize distribution ceremony. Players from the twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad participated in four categories including singles, doubles, deaf and ITBA tour.
Zafar scored 393 points in the final showing brilliant skills and performance to lift the title. He was 10 points ahead of Atta Mohammad, who remained second in the event with 383 points. Zafar pocketed Rs.15,000 and gold medal while runner-up Atta received Rs.10,000 and silver medal. Mohammad Inam got third position with aggregated score of 321 points and received Rs.5000 cash prize plus bronze medal.
In the doubles category, Atta and Malik Faisal got first position with 1093 points while Ijaz Ur Rehman pairing with Zafar secured second position with total score of 1083. In the ITBA tour competition, Mohammad Hussain secured first position with 887 points while Zafar was second with 848 points. Saleem Baig secured 3rd position with 821 points. In the deaf category, Mohammad Khurram secured first position with 273 points, Mohammad Qasim was second with 269 points and Mohammad Aamir got third position with 248 points.
