ISLAMABAD – The government gives no objection certificate (NOC) to the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to represent Pakistan in upcoming Asian Games 2014 at Incheon, South Korea, in September.
“Yes, Pakistan Sorts Board sent a clear communiqué to the PHF and PCB about participation in Asian Games,” said Dr Akhtar Nawaz Ganjera, the director general of the Pakistan Sports Board. He told journalists that the board clears all confusion about the participating in Asian Games and federal secretary for the Ministry of Inter-provincial Coordination will meet both groups of the Pakistan Olympic Association.
He said that the Pakistan Sports Board gets 15 scholarships from China and soon it would send 15 athletes to China from different games to improve their abilities and standard to get some good results at international level. The board also planning to establish national fitness centre in Islamabad to monitor the fitness and training of ace athletes, he said.
Ganjera said that sports and athletes would be provided international level facilities to help them bring laurels for Pakistan in near future as well as the board would hold training camps of male and female athletes round the year.
