Pakistan climb up to No 3 in ICC Test Rankings

KARACHI: Even though Pakistan are currently not playing any Test series, they have still managed to climb up to the third spot in the ICC Test Rankings. It was more of England dropping down rather than Pakistan climbing up. England are currently playing a Test series with Sri Lanka. The two teams are playing in England in order to improve their own Test rankings. Sri Lanka have been on song for quite some time and this is why they were able to beat England in their own home ground. This defeat actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise for the Pakistan cricket team.
England dropped points and now Pakistan have managed to move up to the third spot in the Test rankings. After their loss to Sri Lanka, England lost 4 points as they lost a home series. This means that they now have 100 ranking points. England, who were first positioned at the third spot, have now come down to the fifth spot. Pakistan, who are not even playing any Test series, currently have 103 points in the Test rankings and this turned out to be in their favour as they are now positioned at the third spot. Australia are currently at the number 1 spot while South Africa are still glued to the second spot in the rankings.
