Committee takes note of Rs 20 million outstanding arrears
LAHORE – The Pakistan Cricket Board’s Management Committee has endorsed its Chairman Najam Sethi's request to the ministry to promulgate the new democratic constitution for the board at the earliest and subsequently conduct the election without delay.
Presided by Najam Sethi, the sixth meeting of the PCB Management Committee held at the Gaddafi Stadium on Monday. The committee members also took note of the outstanding arrears of approximately Rs 20 million detailed in the internal audit report for the period Zaka Ashraf was PCB chairman and authorised Najam Sethi to inquire into the matter and make an attempt to enforce recoveries.
The Management Committee also unanimously approved health insurance and benefits to board's contractual employees. These are currently only available to permanent employees of the board. An update on the current legal position of the PCB was also provided to the committee.
Shaharyar M Khan, Shakil Shaikh, Zaheer Abbas, Iqbal Qasim, Subhan Ahmad, and other officials attended the meeting.
