Reinstatement order of PCB’s sacked employees set aside

LAHORE: A two-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan on Monday set aside the Islamabad High Court (IHC) order for reinstatement of 24 sacked Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) employees. The bench observed that the petitions filed by the sacked employees were not maintainable before the IHC as the PCB did not have any statutory rules and the employees were also appointed on contract. The two-member bench comprising Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Mian Saqib Nisar passed the order while allowing appeals of the Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) Ministry and the PCB Management Committee against IHC order for reinstatement of 24 sacked PCB employees. The bench heard the matter at the Supreme Court Lahore Registry.
