POA chief Arif elected Pakistan Archery Federation president

LAHORE: Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) president Lt Gen (r) Syed Arif Hasan was elected unanimously as president of the Pakistan Archery Federation (PAF) at the general council meeting of the body here on Monday. Khawar Shah was elected as senior vice president of the national federation. It is pertinent to mention that Khawar Shah is also the secretary general of the Pakistan Federation Baseball. Ms Zainab Shaukat was elected as chairperson of the PAF women’s wing. During the meeting, PAF secretary general Wasal Khan presented the annual progress report of the PAF for the year 2103 and also calendar of activities for the year 2014. It was decided that the National Archery Championship 2014 would be held under the auspices of the Punjab Archery Association shortly. Speaking on the occasion, Arif Hasan pledged all out support to the sport of archery and hoped to take the sport to new heights at the international level during his tenure as the PAF president.
