KARACHI – Pakistan top internationals Rashid-ul-Ghazi-Tehsin Gheewala competing from East-West direction, outscored others and came at the top of the ladder with a handsome score of 65.21 per cent in Nishan-e-Haider Pairs Bridge Tournament.
According to Karachi Bridge Association (KBA) on Monday in presence of some big names, it was one of the largest, toughest and exciting gathering at the Defence Service Club DHA. The event was sponsored by Maj (Retd) Saadat A Khan, which has shown his love and attachment to the Pakistan Army and the country.
Ghazi and Gheewala topped the 25-pair event. There had been a very competitive game throughout which kept the positions fluctuated by every round. Anwer Kizilbash-Ahsan Zahir Rizvi, Gulzar Bilal-Mubashir Puri, Mazhar Ali Khan-Reza Naqvi remained in the main stream and it was certain the winner will emerge from this lot.
The pair of Raza Naqvi and Mazhar Ali Khan clinched the second spot by mustering 62.80%.Gulzar Bilal and Mubashir Puri, though do not play together as a pair, yet they performed excellent and finished on third position having a score of 58.22%.
President of Defence Service Club presented the prizes to the winning pairs after the close of the championship. In his speech, Maj (Rtd) Saadat A Khan, expressed his gratitude to all bridge players who came there to make it a great success.
