Old Ravians XI defeat Vice Chancellor XI by 29 runs

LAHORE: Old Ravians XI defeated Vice Chancellor XI by 28 runs in a festival cricket match at the Government College University Lahore Oval Ground here on Friday. Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman was the chief guest at the occasion. After winning the toss, Old Ravians XI, led by former Punjab chief secretary Pervaiz Masood, opted to bat first and posted a formidable score of 218 in 15 overs. Kamran Lashari, Salim Malik and Muhammad Bilal scored some quick runs in the early overs. Aziz Nauman Butt made 92 off 46 balls. Chasing a challenging target of 219, Vice Chancellor XI could muster only 189. Director Sports Khadim Ali Khan, Azhar Iftikhar and Taha Sadaqat showed some resistance and played fine innings. Aziz Nauman Butt got three whereas Salim Malik claimed two wickets. GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Rahman congratulated the Old Ravian XI on wining the annual festival match.
