KARACHI – No haste will be done in Pakistan cricket team captaincy issue, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar M.Khan said on Thursday.
“No hasty decision will be taken regarding Misbah-ul-Haq and we will take various aspects into consideration,” he told journalist after cutting a tape of for the renovation of Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) housed at the National Stadium.
“A lot of thoughts will be given before making any change or otherwise on change of captaincy,” he said. “At the moment we have no plan of change of captaincy," he added. Pakistan team will take on Australia in the Twenty20, One-day and Test series starting in United Arab Emirates on October 5.
Strong rumours were in the cricketing circles regarding change of Pakistan team captaincy after team's disastrous tour of Sri Lanka where they lost both Test matches and suffered 2-1 loss in the ODI series. Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq, who had done well in the few months, struggled with the bat during the series.
Misbah's defensive approach as a captain and as a batsman was the main focus of the discussions by the pundits and media.
