Ebola virus in Sierra Leone: precautionary steps taken to save 25 Pakistani crew

KARACHI: Ansar Burney Trust International Chairman Ansar Burney, has said that on the directives of President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, all the precautionary measures has been taken to save 25 Pakistani crew on MV Malakand from Ebola virus in Sierra Leone. He said, “Warning from World Health Organization that declared the health emergency, Ansar Burney Trust International sent SOS letters to President, Prime Minister, Ministry of Port and Shipping and Chairman of PNSC to save the lives of 25 innocent Pakistani crew members of the ship MV Malakand and refrain from spreading the virus in Pakistan. Burney thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif for the kind interest in human rights related matters and said the ship has been anchored outside Sierra Leone with all precautionary steps and protective material along with prohibition directions have been provided to those on board the ship. Burney said.
