JI lawmakers ask govt to resolve traffic jams


KARACHI: Former lawmakers of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have demanded the government to lay a network of bridges and flyovers in order to ensure relief to the masses from traffic gridlocks at different areas of the city. In a joint statement issued on Tuesday, JI leaders, Muzaffar Hashmi, Nasrullah Khan Shajih, Laiq Khan, Hameedullah Khan Advocate and Younus Barai expressed their concerns over traffic jams on different roads on a daily basis in the city, adding that the people have been suffered in mental agony by the routine traffic jams on main roads of the city. They further demanded the government to ensure early completion of the continuing construction works of bridges and flyovers so that the people could get sigh of relief from traffic mess. The leaders urged the officials concerned to evolve an effective strategy to rid the city from traffic jams problems, demanding timely repair and patch work of damaged roads.
