ASI, lady cop among seven killed, 10 injured in city

KARACHI: Seven people, including an ASI and lady police constable, were gunned down, while 10 others injured in different firing incidents in the city on Saturday.According to Station House Officer (SHO) Liaquatabad, unidentified armed motorcyclists came at Complaint Camp of Police, Firduos Shoping Centre, Sarafa Market, and opened fire. Resultantly, PQR/Assistant Sub Inspector Mohammad Ali was killed and a Lady Police Constable Kiran, posted at Women Police, was injured. The victims were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) where LPC Kiran succumbed to her injuries during treatment.Two persons, Moulana Haroon and Moulana Hafeez were killed and two others injured when unidentified armed men opened fire on a Fitra donation stall at Masjid Ibrahin in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Sector 13-D. They were shifted to ASH.In another incident, Waheeduddin, 30 was gunned down while Mohammad Nisar Nasir, 50, was injured when unknown armed persons opened fire on their car near Garam Chashma in Manghopir area. Both were resident of North Karachi and shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities and treatment respectively.Haider Ali, 35, was shot dead by armed men at Naziamabad No-4. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy. A political worker, Nazir Ahmed was killed by unknown culprits in Orangi Town, sector-5L. The body was shifted to ASH for medico-legal formalities.Noshad, 35, son of Khalil, and his wife Ghurria, 22 were shot and injured when unknown armed men opened fire on them while they were riding a bike in Orangi town. They were rushed to ASH for treatment.Two persons were injured in a firing incident when armed motorcyclists opened fire on their car in FB Area near Ayesha Manzil. They were shifted to ASH for treatment.Separately, Rafique, 28, son of Istam Gul, resident of Surjani town, was injured by unknown armed culprits near Main Markaz Chowrangi. He was shifted to Liaquat National Hospital.Umair Gul, 25 son of Badshah Gul was injured in firing of unidentified armed men near Disco Bakery in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment.Meanwhile, Fateh Mohammad, 40, son of Noor Mohammad, resident of Suhrab Goth, was injured by unknown persons in Ayoob Goth, near Muhammadi Masjid. He was shifted to ASH for treatment.
