Six alleged bandits killed in police encounter

KARACHI: Six alleged bandits were killed in a police encounter along the Super Highway near Sohrab Goth on Monday.
A police official said that the Malir District police conducted a targeted raid at the bandits’ hideout in a slum area along the Super Highway near Sohrab Goth on a tip-off, and when police began a search in the area, the criminals opened fire. 
He said that the police retaliated in which six criminals were killed. However, their five accomplices managed to flee. The police claimed that the criminals were operating in an organised manner, living nearby a slum area and looting vehicles passing through the Super Highway. “The bandits were also involved in sexually assaulting women,” the official police said.
The bodies were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities. The identity of the bandits could not be ascertained yet and further investigation was underway. ppi
Seven killed in city mishaps:  Seven people lost their lives while two others were injured in different incidents on Monday.
Amir (15) son of Ayub, was seriously injured in a firing by unidentified persons near the Meeran Naka. He was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) where he succumbed to his injuries.
In another incident, Junaid (25), son of Azeem, was gunned down by unidentified assailants near Saifi Lane, Lyari. The body was shifted to CHK for an autopsy.
In yet another firing incident, unidentified assailants near Aath Chowk, Lyari killed an unidentified person of 25 to 30 years. The body was shifted to CHK.
In another firing incident, an unidentified person aged 45 years, was killed in Baloch Colony, Mehmoodabad. The body was shifted to Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center (JPMC) for an autopsy. 
A body was found near a Farm House at Jam Kando Nadi. Later, the victim was identified as Mohammad Arif (20) son of Rafiq, and shifted to JPMC for an autopsy. 
In a road incident, Shan (22) son of Fayaz, died due to a vehicle collision. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities.
Sahil (25) son of Baghi, was injured in a firing incident by unidentified persons near Khayaban-e-Rahat park. He was shifted to JPMC for medico treatment. In yet another road incident, Sham Chand (20) son of Atyar, resident of Drig Road died in vehicle collision opposite Millennium Shopping Centre. The body was shifted to JPMC for an autopsy. Faisal (25) son of Mohammad Ayub, resident of KDA Scheme was injured in a road accident near Sharifabad Police Station. He was also shifted to the JPMC for treatment.
