Five killed, four bodies recovered

KARACHI: As many as five persons were killed in firing incidents while police recovered four bodies from different parts of the city on Saturday.
In addition four people including two women also received injuries, police said.
Unidentified gunmen shot dead a man (30) in Korangi number 4. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for post-mortem. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained.
Unknown armed men killed Sabir (40) and Syed Hanif Shah (45) near Rais Amrohvi Colony in Orangi Town sector 14. The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for examination.
In another firing incident, an unidentified man (28) was shot dead by unknown armed motorcycle riders at Qaddafi Town in Landhi. The body was removed to JPMC for legal formalities.
The unidentified gunmen shot dead one Sajid (28) in Orangi Town sector 5. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy, police said.
Police claimed it recovered four bodies two each from Quaidabad and Surjani Town areas.
According to police it recovered two bullet-riddled bodies from Madina Colony in Quaidabad. The bodies were shifted to JPMC for post-mortem examination. Police is investigating into the matter. The identity of two victims could not be ascertained. Their hands and legs were tied with rope. Later, police identified two of them as Muhammad Danish (30) and Waheed (25) both residents of New Karachi.
Police said Sher Zada (17) was shot and injured in Muzzafarabad Colony, Landhi. He was rushed to JPMC for treatment.
Tahir (24) was also shot and injured by unidentified armed men in Quaidabad near Murgi Khana Stop. The injured was shifted to JPMC for treatment.
In another incident, two women Shafahat (50) daughter of Noor Kamal and Assia Bibi (35) daughter of Noor Amin were stabbed and injured at Sherpawo Colony in Landhi. The injured were shifted to JPMC for treatment.
Meanwhile police said two suspected gangsters were killed during a raid in Lyari. Senior Superintendent of Police City Sheraz Nazeer said police conducted a raid in Kalri area of Lyari on a tip-off about the presence of some gangsters.
He said on reaching police party the suspects opened fire. He said two suspects were killed when the police returned fire.
Police recovered weapons including hand grenades from the possession of the deceased, SSP said.
The bodies were shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.
Several persons received injuries in an incident of clash between two political parties near Five Star Chowrangi North Nazimabad.Police claimed both the sides also opened fire on each other.
According to details, incident occurred during assembly of workers from both the sides, they freely used batons to thrash each other as well as firing.
The injured were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Heavy contingent of police reached at the site, dispersed the raged workers and took control of the situation.
According to police, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) had announced a rally at Five Star Chowrangi, which was to be taken place.
MQM leaders and workers were busy in making arrangements for the rally to express solidarity with MQM chief Altaf Hussain when a rival group arrived at the scene and afterwards a exchange of hot words took place over removing the party flags, which later resulted in a clash.
