Two killed, DSP injured in violence across city

*Police capture 62 criminals, kill two in encounter

KARACHI: Two people were killed and four others, including a DSP, injured in different firing incidents in the city on Thursday.A man, Ali Raza, 35, son of Syed Ibrahim, was shot dead by unknown culprits near Goal Market in Liaquatabads FC area. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.Tariq, 25, son of Yaqoob, was shot dead and a minor boy, Daniyal, 6, son of Rasheed, was injured by unknown armed men in Liaquatabad FC area. The body and the injured were brought to ASH for a post-mortem examination and treatment respectively.Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Chaudhry Tariq Saeed was shot and injured by unidentified armed men in Quaidabad. He was rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment.Separately, Zakir Ali, aged 25, was shot and injured by unknown armed motorcyclists at Karimabad. He was shifted to ASH for treatment.Meanwhile, Muhammad Asif, 40, son of Muladad, was injured by unidentified armed men at Bakra Pari in Malir. The injured was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate medical Centre for treatment. Meanwhile, Karachi police on Thursday claimed to have arrested 62 criminals in 69 different raids and killed two alleged criminals in different encounters in the city during the last 24 hours.According to Central Police Office (CPO) Karachi report, police conducted 69 raids in different areas of the city and in consequence of these raids, police captured 62 criminals including, absconders, extortionists and robbers.Report stated that two alleged criminals were also killed in different encounters with police in the city. The police also claimed recovering 19 handguns, four hand grenade, drugs and liquor from the possession of arrested accused.
