KARACHI: Pakistan Islamic Medical Association (PIMA) has announced an online poster designing competition on world no tobacco day, in connection with its public awareness campaign. In a statement, PIMA Central President Prof Sohail Akhtar invited all doctors and medical students to join PIMA in this effort. Around 100,000 people die every year in Pakistan due to smoking-related complications. We have been making efforts to minimize it trough mass level awareness campaigns. He said that there are three themes for this competition; “Raise taxes on tobacco”, “Tobacco is a loss of health and morale” and “Tobacco user is a bad example to others”.
