Explosives recovered from alleged TTP terrorists


KARACHI: Rangers arrested two alleged terrorists of banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and recovered a motorcycle laden with explosive material and IED from them in Muslimabad Colony in the city on Monday. According to spokesmen of Rangers, on a tip-off, Rangers conducted a targeted raid in Muslimabad Colony within the limits of Quaidabad and saved Karachi from a deleterious attack. He said that terrorists were preparing a motorcycle-based improvised explosive device (IED). He said that terrorists tried to flee; however, the rangers chased and succeeded in arresting two of them. He said that Rangers had also started a search operation to arrest their accomplices. He said that explosive-laden motorcycle and explosive material were recovered from the scene. Further investigations were underway. On the other hand, Karachi police on Monday claimed to have arrested 65 criminals in 80 different raids while killing seven criminals in encounters during the last 24 hours. According to Karachi Central Police Office (CPO) report, police conducted 80 raids in different areas of the city and arrested 65 criminals including proclaimed offenders and absconders. The police also claimed recovering 25 handguns, six hand grenades, drugs and liquor from the arrested accused.
