Six illegal water connections severed


KARACHI: Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), during its ongoing crackdown against water theft, disconnected several illegal connections in Pathan Colony, Baldia and different other areas of the city on Wednesday. The operation against water theft is being carried out on the directives of Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Sharjeel Inam Memon to prevent water shortages in the city. According to details, six illegal water connections were taken from 36 and 48 inch lines of the KWSB in various localities of Pathan Colony to sell water on exorbitant prices to the people. The KWSB staff with the help of police severed the connections and seized 300 feet pipe, saving hundreds of thousands of gallons water. An FIR was also lodged against the responsible persons. Similar, actions were also taken against water theft in other parts of the city.
