Naval chief visits forward bases of marines


KARACHI: Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila on Friday visited the forward bases of Pak Marines at Creeks Area to overview operational readiness of deployed Pak Marines. The Naval Chief was accompanied by Commander Coast, Rear Admiral Arifullah Hussaini. A detailed briefing on the Pak Marines operational plans and efforts to support local fishermen was given to the Naval Chief. While talking to the officers and men at HQ Pak Marine Chuhar Jamali, the Admiral lauded the selfless devotion of troops in carrying out the onerous task to defend motherland. He expressed his satisfaction over progress made by Pak Marines in a short time span and their proficiency to operate in Creeks Area. The Naval Chief said that the importance of Marines had become more pronounced under prevailing interval security environment. He also appreciated the services rendered by Pak Marines during natural calamities rendering assistance to fishermen in distress and maintaining good rapport with the local populace. He reiterated that adherence to safeties and rigorous training would help the Marines in further improving their proficiency and skills required to operate in harsh terrain/environment of the Creeks.  Chief of the Naval Staff also assured all out support for developmental plans of Pak Marines.
