Youm-e-Ali (AS) observed with devotion

KARACHI: Youm-e-Ali (AS) was observed with devotion and peace in Karachi on Sunday amid tight security.
A mourning procession of Youm-e-Ali started from Nishtar Park, passed via Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto Road, Father Jaminis Road, Mehfil-e-Shah-e-Khurasan MA Jinnah Road, Mansfield Street Preedy Street , Again MA Jinnah Road (right turn Baba-e-Urdu Road) Baba-e-Urdu Road, Crossing of Chand Bibi Road, Nishtar Road, Bara Imam, Altaf Hussain Road (old Napier Road), MA Jinnah Road, Boulton Market, Bombay Bazaa and Nawab Mahabat Khanji Road and culminated at Hussainia Iranian Imambargah Kharadar peacefully after Magrib prayers. Thousands of men, women and children took part in the procession.
The procession was provided full security by the police and personnel of law enforcement agencies. More than 16,000 police officers along with Rangers were deployed along the procession route. 
The Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) and the police took special security measures and checked all the visitors who wanted to participate in the mourning procession.
The law enforcement agencies also conducted thorough search of all the vehicles coming towards the site for mourning procession and also had random snap checking to prevent any terrorist activity.
The mourning procession was provided full security cover and aerial surveillance continued since morning till the procession culminated at its designated place in Kharadar.
Various political parties and NGOs had specially set up camps to provide assistance to the mourners while ambulance services were also on alert along the procession route.
Before the procession, a Majlis was held at Nishter Park, where renowned scholar Allama Talib Johri shed light on the life of Hazrat Ali (RA) and his sacrifices for the Islam.
The mourners also held a protest demonstration for recovery of missing persons. They demanded of the government to take immediate steps for recovery of the missing persons.
