Murder of sessions judge’s son: SHC CJ takes notice


KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) Chief Justice Maqbool Baqar, while taking notice of the murder of a district and sessions judge’s son, ordered the provincial police chief to assign an honest police officer to carry out probe into the incident.  Kashif Ali, son of Jacobabad District and Sessions Judge Justice Khalid Hussain Shahani, was murdered on Wednesday in Thandi Sarak area near Niaz Stadium in Hyderabad.  According to SHC Registrar Fahim Ahmed Siddiqui, the chief justice took notice of the incident and directed the Sindh IG and Hyderabad SSP to depute an honest and efficient officer – not below the rank of a DSP – to investigate the incident. He directed the Hyderabad SSP to personally monitor the investigation process and furnish a detailed report within two days. He further directed the police officials to provide adequate security to all the judicial officers and their families, including the bereaved family, and submit a report in this regard by today (Friday). Following the murder, the chief justice suspended the legal proceedings at the SHC on the request of the SHC Bar Association (SHCBA) Karachi and Hyderabad chapters.
