PPP Karachi to celebrate BB’s birthday tomorrow


KARACHI: Pakistan People’s Party, Karachi Division, has prepared to celebrate 61th birth anniversary of Benazir Bhutto, former prime minister and chairperson of PPP, with solemnity and traditional enthusiasm on June 21.On this occasion, PPP’s Shaheed leader would be paid rich tribute for her great services and sacrifices – even not sparing  her life- for democracy, the country and the people, said President PPP Karachi and member of National Assembly, Abdul Qadir Patel at a press conference here at PPP Cell on Thursday.Abdul Qadir Patel was flanked by Senator Saeed Ghani, PPP Karachi Division’s Information Secretary, Abdul Lateef Mughal and member of PPP Sindh’s media committee Zulfiqar Qaimkhani.     Patel said that among other things/activities to pay respect to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, PPP leaders and workers throughout the country have introduced a human-friendly initiative tradition of donating blood for the poor patients of thalassemia for last six years.Three-day camps are organised on the eve of her (Benazir) birth day. A large number of workers and officials of the party do contribute their blood, he said.  PPP leader said, this year more than 10,000 PPP workers and officials from Karachi would donate their blood for thalassemia and hemophilia patients.Patel also appealed the people to join this PPP drive for the noble cause in maximum number as this would be a great contribution for the nation.PPP Karachi division has arranged ten camps on June 21 and 22, for blood donation at different areas of the city including Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (Jinnah Hospital), Gymnasium at Kakri Ground of Layari, 500 Quarter, Benazirabad at Hawkes’ bay, Valika Hospital on Manghopir Road, District PPP Office in Nusrat Bhutto Colony, District Central, Vita Chaurangi and Jumma Goth , District Korangi and Gulshan-e-Hadeed , District Malir. At PPP Secretariat near Mazar-e-Quaid, the camp will continue on June 23 as well, PPP Karachi President said.
