KARACHI: After the recent Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) attacks in Karachi and worsening law and order situation in the province, especially in Karachi, Sindh government has asked former federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik for his suggestions. Malik remained famous for introducing different tactics to cope with terrorist activities during the PPP's previous tenure in the Centre. The famous things he did during his tenure as minister include banning cellular networks on any special occasion and pilling riding on motorbikes.  After the recent terrorist attacks in Karachi including attacks on former SSP CID Aslam Chaudhry, both incidents for which TTP claimed responsibility, the provincial government was criticised for not making proper security arrangements. The Sindh government invited Rehman Malik on Saturday to give his detailed suggestions to the provincial government on rising terrorist activities in the province. On Saturday, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah held a meeting with Rehman Malik at CM House to ask for his suggestions. The Press Section of CM House has not disclosed the details of the meeting, however, as per an official handout, "both leaders exchanged their views on over all political and law and order situation". The handout further stated the leaders reiterated the PPP government's resolve to continue its efforts to maintain law and order, expedite the ongoing operation against criminals and to promote a reconciliation policy with a view to strengthen democracy and democratic institutions.
