‘No to civil disobedience’

KARACHI: Senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and member PPP Central Executive Committee Pir Mazharul Haq said on Monday that the people of Pakistan, especially of Sindh and Balochistan provinces, had condemned the civil disobedience call made by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan. He said in a statement that Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri are unwise politicians and for few days, both were busy to destabilize the democracy. Both have never taken part for restoration of democracy and struggled against the dictatorship. Haq said: Benazir Bhutto sacrificed her life for restoration of democracy while former president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari faced hardships of jails, but instead of bowing down before the dictatorship, he faced this courageously, however, Imran and Qadri are unwise politicians who are working to derail democracy, as they did not have value for the democracy. He said: Democracy in Pakistan is stable due to immense sacrifices of PPP. PPP has reservations on election process, but democracy is mandatory because of the fact that even worst democracy is better than dictatorship, he concluded.
