Altaf NICOP, passport issue: MQM lawmakers hold demo outside Sindh Assembly

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Saturday staged Protest outside Sindh Assembly against interior ministry for not issuing passport and national identity card to Altaf Hussain. A meeting of MQM parliamentarians was held at the Sindh Assembly where the party lawmakers decided to stage protest against interior ministry over the issue. Several MQM lawmakers including Minister for Health Dr Sagheer Ahmed and Minister for Industries Rauf Siddiqui were carrying placards inscribed with slogans against NADRA, interior ministry and interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan for depriving Altaf Hussain of his basic right. Speaking on the occasion, MQM parliamentary leader in the assembly, Faisal Sabzwari said that it was the fundamental right of the MQM chief Altaf Hussain to get his identity card and passport. NADRA and Interior ministry is behaving irresponsibly over issuing passport and identity card to Altaf Hussain, he said that Hussain had millions of supporters in the country and he did not need any authentication from anyone. He said that if a person having millions of supporters is facing such a difficult situation to get his passport then what circumstance a common man would have to face during this process. He demanded of President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take notice of delay and immediately issue passport and identity card to Altaf Hussain. He also demanded to restore NADRA staff which was suspended for facilitating Altaf Hussain in London.  He said that the MQM would continue its protest until the issue is resolved.
