Burney condemns Lahore incident

KARACHI: The Chairman of Ansar Burney Trust International and former Federal Minister for human rights, Ansar Burney has termed the Punjab Police’s brutal action against Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran workers in Lahore as ‘state terrorism’ against humanity. International Ambassador for Peace and human rights, Ansar Burney said the killing of innocent people under the patronage of Taliban’s friends in Federal and Punjab Governments shows that the government is fully supporting Terrorists and does not want the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan to be successful. He asked questions from Government that if barriers placed at the residence of Tahirul Qadri were illegal, what about barriers in front of the residences of Prime Minister and Chief Minister of Punjab in Lahore? Ansar Burney said that as per reports the barriers at the residence of Tahirul Qadri were placed four years back, if correct then why these were not removed earlier? He said that the Ansar Burney Trust International has received eyewitnesses’ reports in Lahore that on the instructions from high ups the Punjab police opened straight fire on peaceful TMQ workers.
