SWWB approves water supply to labour colonies


KARACHI: Sindh Workers’ Welfare Board (SWWB) has approved a scheme regarding the provision of water supply to around two thousand five hundred flats of newly built labour colony in Hyderabad. It also approved the construction of around five hundred twelve flats in Tando Adam. A meeting of Sindh Workers’ Welfare Board under the chair of Sindh Labour Secretary Noor Muhammad Laghari decided to write-off installments of flats of sick labours could not pay the installments. It decided to cancel the allotment of flats of those who were not paying installments. The meeting approved renovation of the schools of the department. In the meeting it was decided to enhance the distance between labour colonies and factories from twenty kilometers to forty kilometers. The meeting decided to enforce the promotions criteria on the designations, which were not applicable earlier. Secretary directed to concerned authorities to make sure the provision of water supply to labour colonies all over Sindh during Ramzan.
