Army deployed in city to help LEAs

*Governor says operation Zarb-e-Azb enjoys full support of nation

KARACHI: Army troops have been deployed in Karachi to help Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in case of any eventuality in the wake of the operation launched by the Army in North Waziristan, an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR)’s spokesman said on Monday.He said the troops deployment in the city has been made following launching military operation against terrorists in North Waziristan as pre-emptive measures to help police and Rangers in case of any law and order situation that might arise in its aftermath. Meanwhile, Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan has said operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ that has been launched to rid the country of the menace of terrorism was enjoying support of the entire nation, a statement on Monday said.He said the nation was fully united and determined in the ongoing fight against terrorists and stands with the armed forces in this course.He said the operation had become quite inevitable for the security of the country and to safeguard life, property and honour of the people and it fully reflected the will of the peace loving people. Governor Sindh directed the officials concerned to take all security measures through out the province in the backdrop of the ongoing operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’.He urged the people to remain alert and cooperate with the concerned agencies.
