Six killed, 4 injured as violence continues

KARACHI: Six people were killed and four others injured in separate incidents of violence in the city on Wednesday.Two unidentified men, aged 30 and 40, were shot dead and three others, aged 30, 35, and 40, were shot and injured by unidentified assailants near Abbas Imam Bargah in Gulistan-e-Johar. The bodies were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and the injured to Liaquat National Hospital for treatment. An unidentified male, aged 25, was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Lyari. The body was taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi for an autopsy. Moreover, the four-day-old body of an unidentified man, aged 40, was recovered near Boat Basin, Clifton. It was shifted to the JPMC for post-mortem examination. Two unidentified men, aged 25 and 30, were shot dead by unknown gunmen on Superhighway in Jamali Goth. The bodies were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.Meanwhile, another male, Faizullah, 25, was shot and injured by unidentified assailants near Khattak Chowk in Bilal Colony, Korangi. The body was taken to the JPMC for medical treatment.On the other hand, the police on Wednesday arrested a most wanted member of the Lyari gang-war after raiding in Shah Baig Line of the locality. According to the police, the gang-war member Farhan alias Faqeera, belongs to the notorious Baba Ladla group.“He was involved in several cases, including the blasts and weapons, and drugs were also recovered from him,” the police added.
