‘Yours Sincerely’, a tale about Muslim-Hindu friendship

KARACHI: ‘When love becomes obsession, then goal seeking capacity is maximised. But when this applies for love with the country, then salute is assured with higher probability, told Taha Ahmed (23) from Karachi, whose short film-‘Yours Sincerely’ stood among top five and Ahmed became the first ever Pakistani to be nominated for Reel Show International Film Contests.
Reel Show International Film Contests, which is a globally recognised Film Contests in Wales UK made the nomination.
‘Yours Sincerely’ spotlights Pakistani Dalit Hindus who are making their own identity in Pakistan. Due to lowest cast in Hinduism, they have been ill treated from thousands of years.
I went to Sat Guru Nawal Foundation office to seek their help in shooting the film. Vajeesh Partab their representative helped me a lot in shooting the film, said Taha. His film’s posters were printed in huge quantity and were pasted in multiple universities, colleges, institutes, schools and offices all over Karachi. His DVD and posters were taken by Academic Council on United Nation System (ACUNS), Pakistani representatives to Annual Conference 2014 in Istanbul, Turkey on June 19 and Alistair D Edgar Executive Director for ACUNS has assured to founder and President of Sat Guru Nawal Foundation that they would screen this video on the forum of Waterloo-Canada.
Besides this the Rector of Kadir Has University Istanbul Turkey, Prof Dr Mustafa Ayd?n also assured Taha’s film would be screened in University Cinema in its annual festival. They loved the message in the film that has to be addressed and also the positive Pakistan that is presented through the film. Head of Istanbul Film Festival requested to screen the film at their Film Festival in September 2014, so he was given the permission. So ‘Yours Sincerely’ has booked its special screening in Istanbul Film Festival. On June 10, ‘Yours Sincerely’ was screened in University of Waterloo, Canada. Everyone hugely appreciated it and received appreciations from the Canadian authorities.
From 12,219 entries worldwide, only 31 got nomination. From which, there was only one film from South Asia and that was Taha Ahmed’s ‘Yours Sincerely’. On April 18, top 5 finalists were announced and ‘Yours Sincerely’ did make into that.
It took him 18 days to complete this short film, which after post production, ended 15 minutes 43 seconds. This was the synopsis of ‘Yours Sincerely’.
