KARACHI: Six people, including an Assistant Sub Inspector of Police (ASI), were killed and seven others injured in different violence incidents in the city on Monday.
ASI Yousuf, 45, son of Naseem, resident of Korangi, was gunned down by unknown armed men at Zia Colony in Korangi. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
A resident of Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Meer Ali, 43, was shot dead by unknown armed persons in Port Qasim area. The body was shifted to JPMC for an autopsy.
The bullet riddled body of a man aged 35, was found from Mandi Keamari. Another bullet riddled body of a man was found from Northern Bypass in Baldia. The bodies were shifted to CHK for medico-legal formalities. The identities of the victims could not be ascertained yet.
Rashid, 25, resident of Orangi town, was gunned down by unknown culprits at Johar Chowk in Orangi Town. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Separately, a resident of Memon Goth, Basheer, 35, son of Aalam, was gunned down by unidentified armed men at Memon Goth in Malir. The body was shifted to JPMC Hospital for an autopsy.
A cop, Salahuddin, 35, son of Zaheer, was shot and injured by unknown culprits at Ali Garh in Orangi town. The injured was shifted to ASH for treatment.
A firing incident occurred in Lyari near Niazi Chowk, in which five persons Mohsin, 18, son of Habib; Junaid, 22, Owais; Niazi 40, son of Imran; Iqbal, 25, son of Hameed; and Junaid, 22, were injured. The incident occurred on resisting a robbery bid. The injured were shifted to CHK for treatment.
Waseem, 35, son of Aleem, was shot and injured by unknown armed men in Orangi Town No-10. The injured was shifted to ASH for treatment. A 30-year-old man, Hussain, son of Islam, was injured by unknown persons in Orangi Town. He was shifted to the ASH for treatment.
