KARACHI: Five people were killed and ten others injured in different incidents of violence in the city on Sunday. Nadeem, 30 years of age, was shot dead by unidentified armed men in Ilyas Goth within the limits of Ibrahim Haidry Police Station. The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities.
According to the police, a 21-year-old man, identified as Adeel, was shot and injured by bandits on resistance to a robbery in Pehlwan Goth. The injured was shifted to the JPMC for treatment where he succumbed to his injures. Separately, a man was gunned down at Memon Goth in Malir. The body was shifted to the JPMC for an autopsy. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained yet. Moreover, a body of a man bearing torture marks was found near the shrine of Juman Shah in Quaidabad, and another man was found dead in Korangi. The bodies were shifted to the JPMC for medico-legal examinations. The identity of the victims could not be ascertained yet.
On the other hand, two men were shot and injured by unidentified armed men in Lyari. The injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for the treatment. Three men, Altaf, 25, Ghulam Qadir, 35, and Baqar, 40, were shot and injured by the bandits for resisting a robbery bid near UP Morr. The injured were shifted to the ASH for treatment. Meanwhile, five people were injured in two separate grenade attacks in Orangi and Metroville. The injured were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment.
