Patients suffer due to boycottof burns centre employees



KARACHI: Burns Employees Action Committee of Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) Burns Centre on Wednesday boycotted their duties over alleged discriminated attitude of administrative officers with staff, and non-acceptance of their demands. The employees and Burns Employees Action Committee member boycotted their duties and staged protest demo against administrative officers outside the Centre. However, patients and their attendants who reached the hospital from different areas of city suffered a lot due to the boycott. The protesting employees said they have been working in the hospital for many years but administration is not ready to regularize them. It is also not paying them salaries on time. They alleged that administrative officer of Burns Centre misbehaved with employees and threatened them of sacking. They demanded of the government to regularize the employees, give infections allowances to staff and ensure protection of their jobs.
