KARACHI: Sindh Police and districts administrations should provide foolproof security to all minorities including Christian community within their respective areas.
Talking to a Christian community delegation Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah said Sindh government decided to recruit youths from minorities in Sindh Police and depute them for the security of the minorities and their worship places after necessary training to avoid embarrassment and ensure confidence building among the minorities.
He said many development schemes have also been included in the current Annual Development Plan 2014-15 for different communities.
Qaim directed DIG Sindh Police Karachi East to resolve the security problems and ensure foolproof security to the Christian community at Essa Nagri Gulishan-e-Iqbal Town Karachi.
He issued directives to commissioner Karachi for resolving the problems being faced by Christian community in Karachi without any fail.
He said he has already issued strict instructions to the higher authority of Sindh Police and all district administrations for launching social uplift programmes within their jurisdictions.
Sindh Minister for minorities Gian Chan Esrani said he was available in his office for 4 days of the week and personally visited the ongoing development schemes in the interior Sindh to get first hand information about the problems of the minorities and ensure qualitative work and protection of the worship places.
He invited the minorities to bring their problems at his office and his management and assured the Christians community for visiting Essa Nagri along with special assistant to CM Rashid Rabbani to listen problems.
Rashid Rabbani said as many as 20 churches including 3 big churches were in Karachi and full security was being provided. He said the security concerns of Christian community would be resolved on priority.
