Five killed in Karachi violence

KARACHI: Five people were killed and another six injured in separate incidents of violence in the city on Wednesday.
Yasir (35) son of Mustafa and Haroon (30) son of Rasheed were killed when unknown armed motorcyclists opened fire on them near Kalapul.
The bodies were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medico-legal formalities. SSP Faisal Bashir Memon said Yasir and Haroon were standing along road at Kalapul when unknown armed men opened fire on them. He said police patrolling there also returned fire on attackers in which one of the accused was injured but they managed to flee. The beheaded body of an unidentified woman (25) was found in a flat in Sohrab Goth. The body was stated to be month-old. It was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for post-mortem examination.
An unidentified man (30) was killed when unknown gunmen opened fire on him near Purana Truck Adda in Mauripur. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities.
Kamran Shah (36) son of Mian Bux was killed when unidentified armed men opened fire on him near area graveyard in Bilal Colony Korangi. The body was shifted to JMPC for an autopsy.
A man Allah Rakha (40) son of Yousuf Junejo was seriously injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him near Junejo Jamaat Khana in sector 11-G North Karachi. The injured was shifted to CHK for treatment.
In an incident of robbery, a man Afaq Ahmed (35) son of Ishaq Ahmed was injured while offering resistance near Gora Qabristan along Shahra-e-Faisal. The injured was shifted to JPMC for treatment.
A man Altaf (25) son of Yameen resident of Buffer Zone was injured when unidentified armed men opened fire on him in sector 15-B Buffer Zone. The injured was shifted to ASH for treatment. A teenage boy Babar (18) son of Shahjahan Muhammed was injured in firing by unidentified gunmen near Dr Ziauddin Hospital in Shireen Jinnah Colony Clifton. He was shifted to JPMC for treatment.
A 30-year-old man Iqbal resident of North Karachi was injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him near Ausaf Training in sector 5-G, North Karachi. The injured was shifted to ASH for treatment.
A man Zahid (22) son of Wali was injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in Saifi Lane area Lyari. The injured was taken to CHK for treatment. 
Bomb planted in oil tanker defused: An attempt of terrorism in Karachi was foiled on Wednesday when a bomb planted at main oil tanker terminal Karachi Port was defused. Police deployed at the oil tanker terminal conducted checking of all tankers due to security concerns this morning and found a bomb inside a tanker.
After the report, police and Rangers cordoned off the area. The tankers and other vehicles were removed from the scene.
The bomb disposal squad (BDS) rushed to the scene and defused the explosive material. The bomb was attached with a magnetic device. The bomb contained one kilogram of explosives and ball bearings and it was aimed at creating more fatalities, BDS official Mustafa said.
