Two alleged extortionists killed in encounter


KARACHI: City police on Monday claimed to have killed two extortionists and arrested two dacoits in wounded condition in separate encounters with them in the city. Karachi Police media cell said that on a tip-off, police conducted a raid in Itthad Town where criminals opened fire on them. The police also retaliated with fire in which two extortionists, aged 25 to 30, were killed. Police said that arms were also recovered from the possession of the accused. Separately, police encountered dacoits at Baitul-Mukarram area in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town. Resultantly, two alleged dacoits Abdullah, 22, and Muhammad Raheem, 24, were injured. The police overpowered both of them. Police said that arms were also recovered from the possession of the accused.
