Ration bags distributed among thalassaemia patients

KARACHI: Kashif Iqbal Thalassaemia Care Centre (KITCC) has distributed one-month ration and new clothes among over 400 registered thalassemia-suffering children on the occasion of Eidul Fitr. KITCC Chairman Muhammad Iqbal informed that one-month ration and new clothes for Eidul Fitr were distributed over 400 registered thalassaemia patients, out of which 50 children were provided ration from Lions Club and 350 children from Kashif Iqbal Thalassaemia Care Centre. He informed that dozens of poor families also received ration. He said presently, there were 0.1 million children suffering from thalassaemia disease in Pakistan and they needed 2.4 million blood bags to meet actual requirement. He urged the people to voluntarily donate blood once in every three month to save precious lives. Acting Governor Lines Club Seharat, Aftab Nagori, Zafar Iqbal and family members of thalassaemia patients also attended the ceremony.
