This was announced by MQM leader Haider Abbas Rivzi while addressing a press conference at Nine Zero on Friday.
Haider Abbas Rizvi appealed to traders and transporters to shut their business on Saturday.
The MQM leader said that extra-judicial killing of party workers was being carried out. He said there was no information about 45 missing activists, adding he did not know whether missing workers were alive, dead or in the custody of law enforcement agencies.
Haider Abbas further said Muhammad Suleman and his nephew were arrested by police from Korangi Crossing on February 3.
He said according to the post-mortem report of Suleman, he was brutally tortured. “It is the tenth incident of extra-judicial murder since the operation launched in Karachi”.
He also demanded human rights groups to take notice of the extra-judicial killings of MQM activists. He said that innocent citizens were being victimised due to the operation. “The list of missing persons is on the rise,” he warned. On the occasion, MQM leader Nasreen Jalil said that Karachi police chief Shahid Hayyat should also be nominated in the FIR of party activist’s killing.
