Roadmap to attract more Chinese investment discussed

KARACHI: The roadmap to bring more investment and expertise for development in various sectors was discussed in a meeting between Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Consul General of China in Karachi Ma Yaou and Vice Consul General Mu-Youngpreng on Monday. Qaim said China has lot of technical and modern expertise in various sectors of development where as Sindh province was rich in agriculture, minerals and oil and gas reserves, which were untapped yet. China is the best option for the Sindh government to get its technical expertise for utilisation of indigenous resources as it is already working with Chinese firm especially in the field of energy. He said at present the main challenge, which was being experienced, was shortage of energy as such Sindh government was more interested to be self sufficient in the coal based power generation. Qaim said his government intended to bring development with the technical expertise and investment of China especially in the energy, coal mining, agriculture, lining of canals, infrastructure development, mass transit and solid waste management system. Ma Yaou assured the Chief Minister he would communicate the working plan of Sindh government for getting Chinese investment and expertise with his government and finally would prepare a roadmap for Sindh government to implement it.
