Citizens asked to stay away from wet poles, snapped wires

KARACHI: Karachi Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui passed fresh precautionary directions to K-Electric and advised the citizens to stay away from electric poles during monsoon rains. While talking to media, he said that a team of experts has been constituted with arrival of monsoon season, which will monitor the situation and assist the city administration to make a reach in all parts of metropolis. Moreover, he urged the citizens to follow precautionary guidelines and to stay away from wet poles, fallen and water soaked wires during the monsoon rains. Meanwhile, Rescue 1299 service has issued fresh warnings relating to torrent in the sea due to monsoon season. Rescue 1299 has urged citizens and fishermen to stay away from beaches. It was further said, travelling to beaches is prohibited under section 144 which prohibits gathering of four people at any place.
