Two cops among seven killed in violence

KARACHI: Seven people, including two policemen, were killed and six others injured in different incidents of violence in the city on Thursday.
Paposh Nagar Police Station SHO said that two police constables, Mohammad Mushtaq and Mohammad Atif, were deployed on duty at Sarafa Market, Paposh Nagar when unidentified accused assailants opened fire on them. Resultantly Mohammad Mushtaq (55) was killed.
He said that the other constable remained safe. The criminals also took the the police personnel’s SMG with them. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for a postmortem.
Noor Muhammad (60) was shot dead by unidentified armed motorbike riders in SITE-A. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for an autopsy. Asghar Khan (25) was shot dead by unidentified armed men at MPR Colony in Orangi town. The body was brought to Sindh Qatar Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Baghdadi Police Station SHO informed that unidentified armed men at Phool Patti Lane in Lyari killed Samad Raees. The body was shifted to CHK for an autopsy.
Separately, a police constable, Yousuf Khan (40) was shot dead by unidentified armed men near Al-Hassan Bakery in Orangi Town No 4. The body was shifted to ASH for a postmortem examination.
The police said that the policeman was in plain clothes. A card found from his pocket showed that he was posted in the VVIP Security Zone.
Jamshed Quarter Police Station SHO said that the accused Arsalan (22) opened fire and injured a girl namely Sana (20) at Bungalow No 82 in Muslimabad, Kashmir Road. Later the accused committed suicide. Both were working as servants in the said bungalow. The motive of incident seemed personal enmity. The body and the injured girl were shifted to CHK.
Boat Basin Police Station duty officer informed that police found the body of a teenage girl identified as Sidra (16) resident of Hindu Para, Teen Talwar Block-1. He said that unidentified persons killed her, when she was going back to her house from a tuition centre. The body was shifted to JPMC for a postmortem examination.
Abbasi Shaheed Hospital medical legal officer (MLO) reported that Usman (25) was brought in injured condition from Bleeche Paradise, Block-II Gulistan-e-Johar. Aziz Bhatti Police Station Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Idrees said that the person was injured by a stray bullet at his house.
PMC MLO Dr Rohina reported that Aijaz Dahri (30) son of Mohammad Yousuf Dahri was brought to JPMC from Malir Halt, having received bullet injuries due to firing of unidentified persons. East Base DIGP, SIP Sarwar had verified and stated that the injured man was an engineer and the incident was occurred at the under construction bridge near Malir Halt. Ayub (45) was shot and injured by unidentified persons near Landhi No 4, Charagh Hotel. He was shifted to JPMC for treatment.
Meanwhile, two policemen, Yaseen (45) and Ghulam Shariq were injured when an unidentified bike rider threw a grenade at the Karli Police Station. The injured were shifted to CHK for treatment.
