Five shot dead, seven injured in violence

KARACHI: Five people were killed and seven others injured in separate incidents of violence in the city on Tuesday.An unidentified man, aged 30, was killed when unknown gunmen opened fire on him near Nagan Masjid in Slaughter House area, Lyari. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities. A youth, Imran, 25, son of Iqbal, was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him in Baldia Town No 4. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy. A man, Waseem Niazi, 30, son of Abdul Ghafoor Niazi, was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him near Ayub School in Baghdadi Mira Naka, Lyari. The body was shifted to CHK for medico-legal formalities. Hafiz Nasrullah, 28, son of Izzat Gul, was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him near Darpan Bazaar in Patel Para. The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for an autopsy. Separately, a man, Shehzad Karim, 35, son of Haji Mian Guldad, was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him on Bijli Nagar Road in Metroville, Orangi Town. The body was shifted to ASH for postmortem examination. A youth, Muheed, 20, son of Mushtaq Ahmed, received bullet injuries when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him near Fawwara Chowk in Garden. The injured was shifted to CHK for medical treatment. Two men, Anwar, 45, son of Ismail, and Hanif, 55, son of Yousuf, were injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on him near Godhra Stop in New Karachi. They were taken to ASH for medical aid. A woman, Shazia, 32, daughter of Ahmed Ali, was injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire on her near Fatima College on Jamshed Road No 3 in Jamshed Town. She was taken to ASH for treatment. A man, Umer, 25, son of Pervaiz, was injured when unidentified gunmen opened fire in Natha Khan area. The injured was shifted to JPMC for treatment. A man, Abdullah, 30, son of Nawab Khan, was shot injured by unidentified armed men in Valeeka, Site Area. The injured was shifted to JPMC for medical treatment.
