CID declares TTP man most wanted, arrests sectarian killer

KARACHI: Crime Investigation Department (CID) published the picture of the most wanted militant of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan on Monday. According to CID officials, suspect Azizullah alias Shamzai is involved in more than 30 cases of target killings of policemen and bomb attacks. The officials also said that they have been raiding different areas for the arrest of Shamzai and his companions Qari Shakir and Waqeel. CID also appeals to the provincial government to set reward money for the arrest of Shamzai. The suspect's name will also be included in the Red Book if he is not arrested. Separately, CID police claim to have arrested an alleged member of the outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi. According to CID's Sectarian Cell in-charge, Fayyaz Khan, the arrest was made on a tip-off when CID police raided the hideout of the accused, namely Nadeem Iqbal in North Karachi area. Fayyaz Khan said that the accused was involved in a number of cases of sectarian killings and was wanted both by CID and Manghopir police. The case has been registered and further investigations are underway.
