Khuhro demands Imran, Qadri to end sit-ins

KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Tuesday demanded Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri to end sit-ins in Islamabad and miseries facing protesters. Talking to media at his office Khuhro said, “Unless rigging is proved in the elections, Imran has no right to demand prime minister’s resignation.” He said that rigging was also reported in KP elections but Imran was not ready to accept it. “Imran Khan admitted to rigging in PTI intra-party polls and there may be a chance that he may have rigged elections for PTI chairman for himself,” he said, adding that Imran should resign from his party post and initiate investigations into the rigging allegations. “Qadri and Imran participated in the controversial 2002 elections but boycotted 2008 elections which was recognised even by the international community as the first ever positive power transaction in Pakistan,” he said, adding that Qadri wanted to dissolve the assembly and wind up this system which was not possible. The minister said that Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri embarrassed the army after dragging them into this political situation. He asked, “Why Imran accepted chief of army staff as a facilitator in resolving this crisis and rejected facilitation role of political parties?” He said, “COAS prime minister’s subordinate then why Imran would want a subordinate to become a facilitator in resolving the crisis?”
