Seven including a woman killed in city violence

*55 detained in crackdown against terrorists

KARACHI: At least seven people including a woman were killed in different incidents of violence here on Wednesday. According to reports, unidentified armed persons opened fired on a man at Gareeb Shah Road in Liyari. Rescue sources said that injured man succumbed to injury and died while shifting to the hospital. The deceased could not be identified until now.On the other hand, unknown assailants near Water Pump at Federal B area opened fire on a man identified as Syed Mohsin Ali, who was the resident of Yousaf Plaza, who died at spot. Deceased has been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. While in Frontier Colony 3 of Pirabad a dead body of 30-year-old man was recovered who was shot to death by unidentified persons. The dead body has been shifted to Civil hospital for post-mortem.Meanwhile in Defence near Kala bridge Agha Hotel another dead body of 35-year-old man was recovered who was strangulate to death, according to police, deceased was a drug addict.Whereas in Paposh Nagar near Abdullah College, unidentified armed persons targeted to death a young man - Adnan. According to police deceased was the resident of Federal B area block 15 and the motorbike was of ASI Ismail of Clifton Police station. Earlier in Maleer City unknown assailants killed a 24-year-old man identified as Habib Ullah traveling on motorbike on highway from Asowath to Ghazi Goth. According to police, Habib Ullah was the member of religious organization while further investigation is underway. However spokesman of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWL) said that deceased was the member of their organisation and resident of Daud Goth Maleer.As the practice of violence continued in Karachi another strangulated dead body of a woman was recovered from house near Kala Pull, deceased was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for further medico-legal formalities.On the other hand, Rangers and police have seized at least 55 criminals including four terrorists during joint operations. The accused were involved in various incidents of target killings.The police and Rangers carried out joint search operation in different areas of the city on Wednesday and arrested four alleged terrorists along with 55 other criminals; Weapons, drugs and other equipment have been recovered.According to police, search operation was carried out in different areas including New Karachi, Liyari, Bhense Colony and Mochko and collectively 55 criminals have been nabbed which were shifted to police station for further investigations.
