KARACHI: Four people lost their lives while four others were injured in different incidents in the city on Monday. Farzana, (35) was gunned down by unidentified persons in Malir Bakra Piri. She was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy.
In a separate incident, Akbar Ali (30) was shot dead by unidentified persons in MPR Colony Orangi Town. The body was shifted to the ASH for an autopsy.
Temoor (20), was killed in firing by unidentified persons near Mujahid Crown Orangi Town.
In another incident, Mueen (20), was injured by firing of unidentified persons in Machhar Colony Nala Stop. He was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for treatment.
In yet another incident, Yousuf (40), was injured by firing of unidentified assailants near Burhani Hospital, Arambagh. He was shifted to CHK for treatment.
In a road accident, a lady Nargis (45), died in a vehicle collision near Ghani Chowrangi. The body was shifted to ASH for medico-formalities.
In another road accident, two persons named Daniyal (25) and Jaffar (45) were injured in a vehicle collision near Do Talwar, Clifton. Both were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for treatment.
Meanwhile, the spokesman of city police has denied target killing of police personnel on Monday morning.
He dispelled the impression created by certain channels that unidentified motorcyclists in Bakra Mandi area of Malir killed a lady cop and a head constable.
He said, “This instead was a case of honour killing in which a cop, Haji Khan, associated with police, killed his girlfriend under suspicion of having an illicit relationship. He used his personal rifle.”
After murdering the woman the cop tried to kill himself, however, survived the self-inflicted injuries.
Consequent to reports forwarded by the doctors and necessary investigations by the police, Haji Khan was immediately placed under police custody at the hospital. His condition was said to be critical.
