Three killed, two injured in firing incidents

KARACHI: As many as three people were killed while two others injured in separate incidents of violence on Saturday.According to police, unidentified gunmen shot dead a man (35) near Yasrib Imam Bargah in Defence Housing Authority Phase 4. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for medical examination.In another incident of firing gunmen shot dead Ghulam Abbas Rizvi (35) son of Jaffar Abbas Rizvi resident of Khamosh Colony. The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for an autopsy.Police recovered a beheaded body of a man later identified as Shakeel (35) son of Nana near Kishti Masjid in Dhobi Ghat Garden. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for post-mortem.A man identified as Asim Ali (35) son of Jan Muhammed resident of Shah Latif Town was shot and injured while offering resistance to robbery near railway track at Bhense Colony Morr. The injured was shifted to JPMC for medical treatment.A man Rafeeq (24) son of Ramzan was injured in a police encounter on Shahra-e-Faisal near Lal Kothi. The injured was shifted to JPMC for medical treatment.Four unidentified gunmen riding a Suzuki pick-up opened indiscriminate fire on the vehicle of Deputy Commissioner Korangi Zubair Ahmed Channa afternoon as a result police guard Ishtiaq and driver Wakil were injured.According to the police the Deputy Commissioner managed to escape unhurt and assailants fled from the scene after firing, police said.The incident took place near Nasir Colony in Korangi when the DeputyCommissioner was heading for Industrial Area in his official vehicle.
