Qualification of Sonia Gandhi questioned by a BJP leader

‘India wants good relations with Pakistan

NEW DELHI – Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday said that India informed Pakistan that it want good relations with its neighbour.


“Talks can be successful provided terror activities stop,” she said after assuming charge as the first woman minister on the important External Affairs. “My priority will be to showcase our strengths to the world and improve ties with neighbouring countries, strategic partners, Africa, Europe and others,” she said.


Sushma also stated that “Prime Minister Narendra Modi had conveyed to Nawaz Sharif that talks will get subdued under the din of bomb blasts.” Earlier, BJP spokesperson Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi slammed Congress for taking a swipe at HRD Minister Smriti Irani’s educational qualification and said the former ruling party should leave arrogance behind after the party’s defeat in the Lok Sabha polls and introspect.


“Congress leaders should now stop using abusive words against BJP leaders. Congress should respect the mandate of the people,” he said. Another BJP leader Santosh Gangwar said he wants to ask Congress how educated was its president Sonia Gandhi. Earlier, Congress leader Ajay Maken took a jibe at Irani’s educational qualification.
