CM orders foolproof security arrangements for Eid




LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that all-out measures are being taken for the protection of life and property of citizens because it is prime responsibility of the government to provide them security on important events and festivals. The chief minister directed the police to make foolproof security arrangements on Chand Raat (the last night of the holy month of Ramazan) and on Eid days. He directed that additional police force be deployed at shopping centres, plazas and markets and that special attention be paid to the security of mosques, imambarghas and Eid congregations in the province. According to a handout, the chief minister issued these directives while presiding over a high-level meeting to review law and order and security arrangements for Eidul Fitr. Giving briefing to the meeting, home secretary and the inspector general of police said that 42,000 police personnel have been deputed for security on Eid across the province.
