LAHORE: Old enmity between two parties arising out of a murder claimed another life as a 35-year-old man was gunned down in Lytton Road police precincts on Thursday.
The police said that Shahid Latif, resident of New Mozang, Samnabad, had rivalry with Babar and his brother Zubair, of Rajgarh, who had allegedly murdered his brother Zahid a few years back and he was pursuing the case as a complainant.
On Thursday, Shahid was on his way on a bike when two suspects intercepted him near Bagh Gul Begum and shot at and wounded him. Shahid was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to the bullet wounds. The suspects managed to flee after abandoning their vehicle. The police registered the case on on the complaint of Shahid’s brother Muhammad Nazir and sent the body for an autopsy.
Suicide: A woman committed suicide by swallowing poisonous substance allegedly over financial constraints in Iqbal Town police precincts.
The police said that Samina Khalid used to work as maidservant in different houses and she and her husband would often quarrel over domestic issues, including financial hardships. They had an argument on Thursday after which she swallowed poisonous substance in a fit of depression. The mother of two was shifted to a hospital but to no avail. The body was handed over to the family after completing legal formalities.

The police said that unidentified persons served the victim appearing to be in his fifties poisonous substance that claimed his life. The police sent the body to the morgue for an autopsy.
